RICHARD's bio
Richard Chavez is a highly respected flamenco dancer and instructor known for his powerful stage presence, musicality, and deep commitment to the art of flamenco. He began dancing flamenco in 1991, and his appreciation for flamenco led him to pursue intensive studies in Sevilla, Spain.
Richard has performed with many celebrated flamenco artists and was a member of Yjastros: The American Flamenco Repertory Company, one of the most prestigious flamenco companies in the United States. He also performed in the Los Angeles Opera’s production of Carmen.
As an educator, Richard taught flamenco for seven years at the Orange County School of the Arts and has also taught at Santa Ana College. He is a founding instructor at Naranjita Flamenco, where he continues to share his extensive knowledge, experience, and passion with the next generation of dancers.
