What so special about Naranjita?
Naranjita is a dance studio specifically for flamenco dancers. Most dance studios don't allow for flamenco because of the pounding footwork involved with flamenco dancing - and with good reason! Flamenco dancers have tiny nails on the soles of their shoes that dig into the expensive dance floors that leave behind blemishes and inevitably damage the floors. Naranjita embraces every scratch - it's not flamenco if your floors don't get messed up. Each mark left behind is an example of someone's hard work - a sign of the love, effort, dedication & respect felt for flamenco.

Is Naranjita a formal school?
No, Naranjita is not a formal school. It is a studio open to any flamenco dance or music teacher that needs a place to teach. Each teacher is responsible for their own students & fees. And students are welcome to rent it when they need a place to practice or rehearse too.

Women & men of all ages can - children, teens, adults & seniors. In Spain everyone dances - no one is too old or too young. And we have classes for all levels, from beginning to professional. Do you need dance experience?
No. Absolutely not. All we require is the desire to learn. People with dance experience will already understand certain things like weight distribution and have acute body awareness but those are things that can be learned through repetition and are things we can teach you.

Can shy people dance flamenco?
Yes, in fact shyness often disappears with practice and familiarity. Like anything else, the more you study something the more comfortable & confident you become doing it. Sure, sometimes there are awkward moments when you first learn something, but just keep trying; stay focused, enjoy yourself and you'll be surprised how quickly you'll progress...you will sweat & love it.
